封神演义:1

Xu Zhonglin

The story is set against the historical backdrop of ancient China, amidst the fall of the Shang dynasty and the rise of the Zhou dynasty. Following the timeline of King Wu’s crusade against King Zhou, the story begins with Tyrant Zhou’s disrespectful deeds at goddess Nuwa’s temple, and ends with King Wen’s settling of disputes among various kingdoms. The interactions between human beings and divinities demonstrate the original authors’ wild imaginations. Some of the most well-known tales include Jiang Ziya’s decision to end his reclusive life, King Wen’s recruitment of wise strategists, and the deities’ fierce battles among one another. The battles are the greatest appeal of the series, as the epic provides many incredible fight scenes, where the characters with superpower soar in the sky, make mountains and oceans disappear, create mighty armies out of beans, and fight with powerful weapons made of fiery steel. In the end, the conflicts in both the human and divine realms are resolved, as the heroes are deified by Jiang Ziya, and the warring states are pacified by King Zhou. This audiobook is a special edition re-mastered in 2020. It is narrated by Yuan Kuocheng, perhaps the most famous Chinese storyteller of the past 50 years. Volume 1: The Nuwa maiden judges that the King of the Shang Dynasty is imperfect, and is about to lose Jiangshan, so she sends the magical Millennium Fox to confuse the king and accelerate the collapse of the Shang Dynasty.
