Footsteps ep.3 is again full of words - sung, spoken and sampled. Words that navigate Loss, ideologies through the medium of mum doing the washing, kidneys sold for canisters and slow cars in smalls towns you never did leave.

Back in the studio, Mariana starts off with classics Dorothy Ashby and Mongo Santamaria, and goes into modern with Jeremy Pelt’s and Cymande’s new tunes. The band that gives the title to this episode is Theodor, who comes next with ‘Serpentines’ from their end of last year record. Followed by Bad Bunny’s just out celebration of Puerto Rico with ‘DtMF’. The second part of the show slows downs with Rita Payés, Bibi Club, Tom Misch and Yussef Dayes, and even Kendrick’s ‘man at the garden’. And to wrap it up, Dudu Moraes, Mark Barrott and Nick Drake.
