Vikings Postgame Report: The Minnesota Vikings Defeat The Tennessee Titans 23-13 In Nashville, Improve To 8-2 - Week 11

Welcome to the Vikings Postgame Report. The Minnesota Vikings defeated the Tennessee Titans 23-13 Sunday afternoon down at Nissan Stadium to improve to 8-2 on the season. The Titans kicked a field goal early to take a 3-0 lead and then the Vikings ran off 16 straight points for the remainder of the first half. The Vikings and Titans traded touchdowns in the 3rd quarter and the Titans kicked another field goal to get within 10 points early in the 4th quarter. The Vikings sealed the deal with a Harrison Smith interception in the final minutes of the contest. Sam Darnold finished the game 20-of-32 passing for 246 yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and a 1 yard rushing touchdown. Darnold's passing touchdowns included a 47 yard pass to Jordan Addison in the 1st quarter and a 3 yard pass to Cam Akers in the 3rd quarter. Running back Aaron Jones led the Vikings rushing attack with 39 yards on the ground and Justin Jefferson once again led the receiving game with 6 receptions for 81 yards. Defensively, Andrew Van Ginkel led the team with 8 tackles, 2 sacks, and 3 tackles for loss. Pat Jones II also had 2 sacks and Blake Cashman notched the 5th sack of the game for the squad. Harrison Smith's Interception late in the game was the Vikings only turnover on Sunday. Kicker Park Romo hit a 40 yard field goal and completed 2 extra points on 3 attempts. The Vikings now move on and look to complete their 3 game road trip next week at Soldier Field in Chicago. Welcome to the Vikings Postgame Report. The Minnesota Vikings defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 12-7 in a game where Parker Romo hit four field goals to seal the victory. Romo hit from 45, 33, 34, and 29 yards in the game. The Vikings dominated statistically with 402 yards of offense, they controlled the clock for 42:19, and ran 82 plays on offensive versus the 43 plays by the Jaguars. The Jaguars did intercept Sam Darnold 3 times in the game, with two of them being inside the redzone. Darnold finished the game with 241 yards passing. Mac Jones scored the lone touchdown for the Jaguars on a 1-yard run in the 1st quarter, but the Vikings defense took over from there. They turned over Mac Jones 3 times in the 4th quarter, including: Harrison Phillips' fumble recovery, Bryon Murphy Jr.'s interception, and Cam Bynum's game sealing interception. Cashman, Pace Jr., and Van Ginkel all had a sack each on Mac Jones. Aaron Jones led the rushing attack for the Vikings with 88 yards on the ground and T.J. Hockenson hauled in 8 receptions for 72 yards in the passing game. The first half ended with a 7-0 score which came from the Colts hitting a scoop-and-score on a Vikings sack fumble in the 2nd quarter. The Vikings tied the game early in the 3rd quarter on a 4-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Addison. The Vikings added 2 more touchdown passes to Jalen Nailor and Josh Oliver in the 2nd half to take a 21-10 lead. The Colts added a field goal at the backend of the 4th but the Vikings recovered a late onside kick to seal the victory. Sam Darnold was 28-of-34 for 290 yards passing, tossed 3 touchdowns, and had 2 interceptions. Aaron Jones led the Vikings running attack with 64 yards on the ground and 18 yards through the air. Justin Jefferson once again led the receiving game with 137 yards through the air. Kicker Will Reichard missed his first 2 field goal attempts of the season but was perfect on his three extra points. Defensively, Jonathan Greenard added in 2 sacks, Jihad Ward also notched a sack, Harrison Smith had a fumble recovery, and Byron Murphy Jr. grabbed his 2nd interception of the season. The Vikings and the Rams started off the game by trading a couple of touchdowns each in the first half. Will Reichard hit two field goals for the Vikings, one in each of the 3rd and 4th quarters. Matt Stafford led the Rams by hitting WR Demarcus Robinson for 2 touchdowns and L.A. wrapped up the game with a safety of Sam Darnold late in the 4th quarter. Sam Darnold finished 18-of-25 passing for 240 yards, and 2 TD's. Darnold's touchdown throws went to Josh Oliver and Trent Sherfield Sr. respectively. The Vikings started out hot, jumping out to a 10-0 lead early in the 1st quarter. Detroit then scored the next 21 points in the 2nd quarter to regain the lead. The Vikings and Lions traded points in the second half, including a 35-yard scoop-and-score by Ivan Pace Jr., which gave the Vikings a 29-28 advantage deep into the 4th quarter. Detroit kicker Jake Bates iced the game with a 44-yard field goal with 19 seconds remaining and the Vikings lost for the first time this season. RB Aaron Jones and WR Justin Jefferson scored the Vikings touchdowns in the game and kicker Will Reichard stayed perfect once again this week. QB Sam Darnold threw for 259 yards, had a TD pass, an INT, and took 4 sacks. Defensively, Andrew Van Ginkel had 2 sacks, while both Jonathan Greenard & Ivan Pace Jr. recorded a sack each.
