The background was to bring colour into the dreary Thuringian radio programme and to create a platform where regional and national artists from the electronic music scene could present themselves and exchange ideas. RADIO ELECTRONICA claims to be always on the trail of new influences, trends and artists in the field of electronic music. The show quickly developed from the first pre-productions to a live broadcast, which can be heard every four weeks on Saturdays from 7pm to midnight on the open channel Jena on UKW 103.4 Mhz and via online stream (https://radio-okj.de/wp-content/themes/radiookj/okj-player.html). With a steadily growing fan base, RADIO ELECTRONICA is still a firm institution in the field of electronic music in Jena and beyond the city limits. Besides the latest scene trends and record presentations, studio guests are a big part of the show.

Host: @nickspurwaydj “Oriental by birth and Western by training,” Tong 桐 is a co-founder of FADS and stands out as one of the few Chinese queer house music DJs based in Naarm/melbourne. He is a torchbearer for Chicago/NY House and Detroit Techno. Born and raised in Northern China, Tong’s passion for dance music ignited in Beijing’s only underground club at the time, 灯笼 Lantern, where the soulful swing of Chicago House and the gritty grooves of Detroit Techno captivated him. Now based in Melbourne and having refined his skills under the guidance of top mentors, Tong has showcased his music at renowned events and venues such as Poof Doof and Kiki Bouba Party. He has also founded his own house music event, “Hell Yeah Chicago,” dedicated to preserving and promoting the sounds of Chicago/NY House. Tong’s sound is both diverse and eclectic.
