House Majority Whip Tom Emmer Talks George Santos Expulsion & Potential Biden Impeachment Inquiry

12/4/2023
House Republicans have been digging into the Biden family's allegedly questionable business dealings for months, and they're now taking things a step further — working towards authorizing a formal impeachment inquiry into the President to strengthen House Republicans' legal standing in court while their investigation continues. Meanwhile, George Santos became the sixth member of the House to be expelled in Congressional history, making the GOP's already slim majority in the House even smaller — leading to some concerns that Republicans in the House may have even more trouble passing their agenda. On the Rundown, House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN) explains why opening an impeachment inquiry into the President is both reasonable and necessary based on the evidence revealed, and why many Republicans, including himself, voted against Santos' expulsion. He also adds why he believes House Republicans still have the power to band together and get the job done despite losing a number in their majority. With just over a month left before the Iowa caucus, former United States Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley has found herself neck-and-neck with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL). As her candidacy grows stronger, big-name donors are taking an interest. The Americans For Prosperity PAC, backed by billionaire Charles Koch, officially endorsed Haley's campaign last week. The Northeast Regional Director of Women for Nikki, Jennifer Nassour, joins the podcast to discuss Haley's recent strong polling and what her latest endorsement means for the Haley campaign. Plus, commentary from New York Post columnist and co-author of "The Canceling of the American Mind," Rikki Schlott. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

From Washington: White House Tackles Supply Chain Challenges

12/3/2023
A President's approval rating is often a reflection of Americans' attitudes on the economy. That's why President Biden has been traveling the country attempting to assure Americans that the economy is doing well. Earlier this week, he convened the first meeting of the White House Council on Supply Chain Resilience. Chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisors Jared Bernstein discusses his work on the new council and outlines the administration's strategy to tamper down on inflation. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and California Gavin Newsom (D-CA) went head-to-head during the Red State-Blue State Debate moderated by Sean Hannity earlier this week on the FOX News Channel. The pair took the stage to spar over both states' differing politics. However, it remains unclear whether or not the debate helped or hurt Governor DeSantis, who is actively running for president. Republican Miami Mayor Francis Suarez and Democratic Strategist and FOX News Contributor Leslie Marshall break down the governors' performances and evaluate each state's differing policies. Families are rejoicing after many innocent people taken hostage by Hamas were released as a result of Israel's four-day ceasefire that was declared last Friday. President Biden has said his goal is to keep this pause going to allow for more hostages to be released and humanitarian aid to enter Gaza. However, many are afraid Hamas can't be trusted to keep the peace. On the Rundown, Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (R-NY) explains how she believes Hamas may "manipulate and abuse" the opportunity Israel has given them with this ceasefire and why this likely will not lead to a sooner end to the war. She also discusses the recent car explosion at the U.S.-Canada border and how it echoes the need for better security at our northern border, the fight over government funding in Washington, and how the migrant crisis continues impacting her state. As a result of the pandemic, students across the United States have been suffering from learning loss, and national test scores have been down dramatically.
