My good friend and inspiration to get into radio when I was growing up in Montreal, the legendary Dave Boxer passed away this past week. Dave Boxer was the evening DJ hero on CFCF or as he called it on the air, Cuff Cuff. Dave was the first to play many records that became big hits. He introduced the Beatles on stage at the Montreal Forum and flew to London, England to interview them. Dave was also a huge supporter of Montreal groups including J.B and The Playboys, The Haunted, The Rabble, and many more. Dave was a regular listener to my show and was a very frequent visitor to the Chat Room. He was a real character with a wicked sense of humour, an odd ball, and most of all Dave Boxer was my friend. I’ll miss him.
