EGO

Dr Denis McBrinn

This short audio presentation is designed to bring a clear definition of what Ego is, how to achieve its balance in our lives and to give you an opportunity to focus and reflect on whether Ego primarily assists or hinders you currently in your life. "Enlightenment is the ego's ultimate disappointment" Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche The ego plays an important part in shaping our personality, but it can be troublesome; primarily, because the ego wants us to look good and to be right all the time. No one looks good all the time, nor are we always right! We are all human. Egos are an important part of our personality and play a crucial role in basic survival. They are a powerful basic instinct, but at times they can be counterproductive. How this short audio learning experience works: This audio presentation has been designed using an experiential learning model, Kolb, D. A. (1984): concrete learning, reflective observation, abstract conceptualization, and active experimentation. By taking this approach we hope to cater for all learning styles. You will be given specific new information in the recording usually as “key tips”, “explanations” and “quotes”. You will be led through a gentle but positive meditative reflection process to assist you before conceptualisation and then putting your new skills into practice. You will be encouraged to return to the recording from time to time to re-listen and reinforce your learning and the desired changes in your life. Enjoy! Duration - 12m. Author - Dr Denis McBrinn. Narrator - Sara Dylan. Published Date - Thursday, 19 January 2023. Copyright - © 2022 Mindcool ©.
