And the tactic they discuss in this episode is one that evolved from an “almost” botched hunt that took place nearly 25 years ago. During that hunt, Corey had been chasing a herd bull and his cows up the mountain, and as he was hiking up the ridge behind the herd, he unknowingly ended up above a completely different herd. With the thermals moving down the mountain, the cows in that herd winded him and busted down the mountain. Unsure what was going on, the bull that was lagging behind that herd bugled to his cows, and Corey learned a valuable lesson about a herd bull and his scattering cows… “Reaching Your Peak” will be published every other week, to fill in the gap between regular ElkTalk Podcast episodes, from now until the first part of October.
