January 20, 2025 - Season 15, Episode 81 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the four Divisional Round playoff games that were played over the weekend. We discuss our main takeaways from those games. All four remaining teams in the playoffs this year have franchise-type quarterbacks, so we go over that aspect and how it relates to the Pittsburgh Steelers. We go over the fact that the Steelers are unlikely to land a franchise quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft and how the team is more than likely to move forward in the short-term with QB Justin Fields if they can get him re-signed. The Steelers have re-signed RB Jonathan Ward to a Reserve/Future contract as of Monday morning, so Alex and I go over that news. We also go over other Steelers-related news from the weekend and that includes DBs coach Grady Brown interview with the Atlanta Falcons for their defensive coordinator opening. The Steelers seem set to move Broderick Jones over to left tackle in 2025, so Alex and I discuss the possibility of that happening. We discuss whether that will automatically make Jones a better player or not. We also discuss the Steelers' need to add a veteran backup tackle this offseason and we both wonder if veteran Kelvin Beachum might be such a candidate due to his history, experience and expected cost. Alex and I both spent time over the weekend looking at a defensive lineman prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft class. In this Wednesday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the notable things concerning the Pittsburgh Steelers in the latest episode of Hard Knocks that aired on Tuesday night. Steelers HC Mike Tomlin held his end-of-the-season press conference on Tuesday, so Alex and I go over the several talking points that were produced. There is quite a bit to discuss when it comes to what Tomlin said on Tuesday and that includes him sounding like he wants QB Justin Fields back in 2025 to be the team's starter. Alex and I then go over a few things on the all-22 tape related to the Steelers’ loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday night. Steelers OC Arthur Smith is interviewing for a few open head coaching jobs in the NFL, so we go over that news. We also discuss the Las Vegas Raiders being interested in Sheldon White, the director of pro scouting for the Steelers. WR George Pickens was reportedly late for the Steelers' Christmas game against the Kansas City Chiefs late in the season, so we discuss that news and what Tomlin had to say about that during his Tuesday question and answer session. Will and should the Steelers trade WR George Pickens during the offseason? Will or should they sign Pickens to a contract extension? Alex and I get to those questions during this show. The Steelers signed 17 players to Reserve/Future contract on Tuesday so we go over that news and quickly discuss the more notable players on that list. We talk about the reports beginning to surface since Saturday night concerning the Steelers planning on sticking with Tomlin as the team's head coach. We discuss how that's not shocking. We also discuss whether this could now be the beginning of the end for Tomlin in Pittsburgh. Will the Steelers make any changes to their coaching staff this offseason? January 12, 2025 - Season 15, Episode 77 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Sunday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Saturday night AFC Wild Card game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens that resulted in the former being eliminated from the playoffs. Alex and I discuss the transactions the Steelers made prior to Saturdays game and how the inactive list ultimately played out and why. Alex and I do not go deep into our analysis of the Saturday loss as the all-22 tape has yet to surface. The loss, however, is not hard to dissect just at the surface level based only on the live viewing. With the Steelers being one-and-done again in the playoffs, the annual early offseason discourse when it comes to HC Mike Tomlin must be addressed by us. Alex and I have a long conservation about whether the Steelers should highly consider moving on from Tomlin and possibly reshaping the front office as well. We talk a lot about the culture of the Steelers under Tomlin, the organization’s way of going about business and more. We discuss where we both thought the Steelers 2024 season would look like back in September and how close it came to our predictions. Did the Steelers actually overachieve in 2024? Alex and I discuss that topic. Assuming Tomlin and GM Omar Khan remain employed, and there’s no reason to think otherwise, what changes should be made to the coaching staff? We address that topic. The Steelers must address their quarterback situation early in the offseason before doing anything else and Alex and I address that topic.
