Description:
Encounters is a seasonal weekly program exploring Alaska’s natural world. Recorded in the wild by award-winning nature writer and cultural anthropologist Richard Nelson, the 1999-2001 writer laureate of Alaska. Nelson describes what happens around him, including scientific information about the subject often mixed with Alaskan native teachings and perspectives from his own experience. Encounters typically airs about half the year starting in the fall.
