The money and prizes have gotten bigger over the years, but the basic format and difficulty of the mystery phrases have pretty much remained steady. Another series constant has been the nation's premier (and most fashionably dressed) lettter-turner, Vanna White, who parlayed the gig into a bestselling 1987 autobiography. As for host Pat Sajak, he has won three Emmys for the series.
