Wythenshawe FM 97.2, also known as WFM, is a community radio station broadcasting primarily to Wythenshawe, Manchester and the surrounding south Manchester area. WFM was one of the first radio stations of its type in the UK, gaining a full-time licence in 2005. The station is run by volunteers from across Wythenshawe and surrounding areas Manchester. Broadcasting from a studio just off the main concourse in Wythenshawe Forum – the award-winning station’s broadcasting during Covid-19 was recognised by the High Sheriff of Greater Manchester and was presented with the Queen's Award for Voluntary service in 2014. Despite live shows from the studio not being possible, WFM remained on air 24hrs a day.
