Hour 2: Plans For Your Good

5/21/2024
Our special guest, Australia's 30th Prime Minister (2018-2022), offers a unique insider's account of a Christian who was open about his faith and operated at the top level of politics for more than a decade. During one of the toughest periods since the Second World War, covering drought, wildfires, a global pandemic, and recession, he chronicles God's faithfulness throughout, win or lose, public criticism or public success. Less political memoir and more pastoral encouragement, he is passionate about encouraging others to discover how they can access and see the many blessings of God in their own lives, no matter their circumstances, drawing on Jeremiah 29:11, that God's plans are for our good and not our harm, to give us a future and a hope. Join us to discover: 1. Who am I? Discovering your purpose. 2. How should I live? Finding your pathway. 3. What should I hope for? Embracing your future. Best of In The Market with Janet Parshall: Misled

5/18/2024
For an anxious and weary world, the gospel of Jesus Christ is the one true source of deep peace and lasting joy. But today, many supposedly Christian teachers are spreading ideas that amount to what Paul called "another gospel." The result? A generation of believers confused about what God really says, what He offers, and what He wants for his children. From the heavy burden of legalism to an overemphasis on prosperity or spiritual gifts to warped understandings of grace, every false teaching has two things in common: they all use half-truths that look and sound biblical (making them very difficult to identify) and they all harm and discourage those who are trying to follow the way of Jesus. Our guest will share the painful consequences of following false teachings and will provide clear explanations of what the Bible really teaches about the gospel. He will bring clarity and hope to anyone who has felt discouraged or confused in their spiritual journey—and will invite us to discover everything we’ve been searching for in the true Gospel. Hour 2: Unvarnished Truth

5/17/2024
On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we kicked off the week speaking to your heart about difference believers often experience between their expectation of God and how He operates in their lives and what they actually experience from day to day. Our guest calls this difference the “expectation gap” and he helped us understand it better and discover how to make real, lasting spiritual progress in our lives. False teachers are good at what they do because their ideas subtly shave away at the power of the Gospel in favor of their own ideas with half-truths that give the appearance of sound doctrine. But our guest turned the spotlight on some of the most common false teachings out there today including the prosperity gospel and progressive Christianity. A teacher who combines his experiences as a cold case detective with an understanding of apologetics to explain the what the unsolved murders he has investigated taught him about justice, mercy, forgiveness and the eternal value of human life in God’s eyes. Our favorite Scottish apologist is back with more insightful discussion on the issues challenging the church today including why European acceptance of the trans agenda is slowing down while it is increasing in speed here in the America and how the abrupt end of the leadership of former first minister of Scotland has turned into on the faith of another parliament member being considered for that role. It’s time once again to turn a critical eye to the news of the week as we highlight the stories behind the headlines. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Hour 1: Unblemished Hope

5/17/2024
The cornerstone of our nation is the American family. On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we had an eye opening discussion with a the former U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development who has been recognized across the nation for his humanitarian efforts. He explained who is targeting the family and why. He also explained how clearly stated Communist goals from 1958 are not only in place in the United States but thriving. One of the best things that ever happened to parents in the country was the COVID epidemic and the at home learning that students had to undertake because it exposed the kinds of teaching and indoctrinations that have been going in America’s classrooms for years. We spoke to a man who has dedicated his life to opening up parent’s eyes about the dangers in the classroom and why the School Choice movement is gaining steam across the country while it gives parents back their say over their child’s education. Same-sex acceptance has grown in our society and many advocates question the traditional biblical understanding about these issues even going so far to say that the Bible does not prohibit these relationships. Our guest combined her personal experience with clear biblical guidance to address some of the biggest arguments for acceptance including whether or not the term “homosexuality” was added to the scriptures in the 1940’s and what Jesus and Paul had to say about this matter. Our favorite family therapist joined us for an enlightening conversation about the health impacts of choosing not to complain and practicing biblical positivity. As another busy news week comes to a close, it’s time for another eye opening conversation with our favorite husband and wife team as they continue to teach us how to understand the news through the lens of God’s word. Hour 1: Does The Bible Affirm Same-Sex Relationships?

5/15/2024
You may have heard the claim that the Bible, when read correctly, is not against believers entering monogamous, faithful same-sex relationships. The arguments sound quite compelling. "Jesus never talked about same-sex relationships.” “Paul was only condemning exploitative relationships, not consensual ones.” “We don’t keep the Old Testament food laws, so why would we keep the ones on same-sex sex?” “If God is love, he can’t be against relationships of love.” And more. Have Christians through the ages just been getting this one wrong? Our guest will look at some of the most common arguments used to claim that the Bible affirms same-sex sex relationships. She will analyze the arguments and associated Bible passages to uncover what the Bible really says. For our guest, as someone with a lifelong history of same-sex attraction, this is not just an academic question. But rather than concluding that the Bible does affirm same-sex marriage, she will point us to the purpose of male-female marriage, a different kind of gospel-centered love between believers of the same sex, and God's life-and-love-filled vision for singleness. Hour 1: The Parent Revolution

5/14/2024
It’s no secret that our government-run public education system has held generations of Americans hostage. The teachers unions—the government’s stormtroopers—have been hard at work running a mass misinformation campaign to convince parents that because this is how it has always been, this is how it has to be. But here’s what you may not realize: the parents are winning, and we have entered the death spiral of the education dictatorship. The school choice revolution is here, and moms and dads are successfully restoring parental rights in education, one state, one school district at a time. Our guest, America’s most prominent and influential advocate of school choice, unapologetically argues why parents and political leaders must lean into the culture war taking place in schools. He exposes the hypocritical elites who are content to hold other people’s children captive to poorly run government schools while sending their own children to the best private and charter schools out there. He will help us to “look well to the ways of our household”. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Hour 1: The Perilous Fight

5/13/2024
Does America no longer feel like home? Widespread divorce rates, the erosion of traditional marriage, the popular rise of radical ideologies, attacks on faith, and government interference are only a few of the factors contributing to the struggles of families in our culture. And because of the importance of healthy families to every part of our national life, the breakdown of the family threatens to rob us of the country we love. But it doesn't have to be this way. Our guest fears we are losing the country we love. He joins us today to give us the facts, inspiration, and theory-to-action answers we need to restore a key foundation of America: the family. Strong families are the cornerstone of strong communities. Strong communities build a strong nation. Only when we prioritize the family as an institution established by God will we proudly remain the land of the free and the home of the brave. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Best of In The Market: Climate and Energy

5/11/2024
The attempted cures for climate change are generally worse than the disease—especially for the poor. Demands to transform the global energy infrastructure to depend heavily on wind, solar, and other renewables are harmful to people in America and the world–especially to the poor. Meanwhile, continued large-scale use of traditional energy sources like nuclear, hydro, and fossil fuels would reduce poverty while doing less harm to the environment. Join us as our guests combine outstanding climate science, physics, economics, environmental science, political science, ethics, and theology to present a well-reasoned understanding of human-induced climate change and how to respond to it.
