Israel's Prime Minister Addresses U.S. Congress

7/25/2024
On Wednesday, Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's Prime Minister, addressed a joint session of the U.S. Congress. While the speech emphasized long-standing and close ties between the U.S. and Israel, it also exposed the divisions in American society that have been stirred by the war in Israel. --For example, some Democratic lawmakers boycotted the address, while protestors outside the Capitol condemned the war and the resulting humanitarian crisis. Some protestors spray painted marble statues and replaced American flags with Palestinian ones.--Nonetheless, Netanyahu presented a nearly hour long speech, interrupted by frequent applause. Crosstalk presents this speech, which highlighted the shared interest in Israel's fight against Hamas terrorists and other armed groups backed by Iran.

The Current Political Landscape

7/24/2024
Robert Knight is a former Los Angeles Times news editor and columnist for the Washington Times as well as other publications. Robert has had senior positions in a number of pro-family organizations. He's also written several books including, The Coming Communist Wave- What Happens if the Left Captures All Three Branches of Government, Liberty on the Brink and Crooked- What Really Happened in the 2020 Election and How to Stop the Fraud.--It seems lately that the news cycle has been spinning faster and faster. There was Biden's COVID diagnosis which turned out to be mild. Then after saying he wouldn't drop out of the presidential race, he did which brought record-breaking contributions to the war chest of VP Kamala Harris. There was intense grilling of the Secret Service resulting in the resignation of Director Kimberly Cheatle and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave a very stirring and well received message before a joint session of Congress. --In addition to discussing these matters, Robert also brought his perspective on what we can expect when President Biden speaks tonight, how vulnerable he sees our nation, the U.S. posture toward Israel, illegal aliens and voting laws, his greatest concern as we head closer to the election and much more.

Biden Steps Aside…What’s Next?

7/22/2024
Mat Staver is founder - chairman of Liberty Counsel. Mat is a constitutional attorney with three landmark cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. He's an author and the host of the radio broadcasts Faith - Freedom and Freedom's Call.--Yesterday, President Biden succumbed to pressure from within his own party to withdraw from receiving the Democratic nomination for president. --As early as November of last year, while debating during his own run for president, then candidate Vivek Ramaswamy asked the Democrats to, -End this farce that Joe Biden is going to be your nominee. We know he's not even the president of the United States. He's a puppet for the managerial class.---Jim then communicated his thoughts when he described things this way. He said -...a coup was launched within his own party to pull the rug from underneath him -Biden-.---Given Biden's cognitive condition and decline, Mat communicated that the president was a puppet of people who have been moving the strings of a man they knew wasn't competent to run the U.S. As a result, he made a fool of us both domestically and internationally. In fact, he believes it looked like elder abuse.--Why hasn't President Biden addressed the nation on TV about his stepping down from the Democratic nomination-- There hasn't even been a press conference. This is especially troubling given the fact that we're told his COVID symptoms are minor.--So where exactly is President Joe Biden-- Since we don't know, who's running America-- If he's not competent-capable of running for president, how can he be capable of being the president right now-- In other words, should he immediately resign and step down--

Standing with Israel

7/11/2024
This past Sunday was the 9 month mark since Israel was attacked by Hamas. This is obviously much longer than the 6 day war of 1967 and even more tragic than America's 9-11 attack. Nonetheless, Israel continues in its efforts to defeat Hamas while attempts to establish a cease-fire have failed. --With more on this issue as well as his call to stand with Israel, Crosstalk welcomed Pastor Jim Scudder, Jr. Pastor Scudder is pastor of Quentin Road Baptist Church in Lake Zurich, Illinois. He's an author and is speaker on the program In Grace which airs on WVCY Television, VCY.tv, on the VCY America Radio Network and other facilities across the country. Pastor Scudder has a passion for souls and a desire to teach others about our Savior's love.--Discussion began with Pastor Scudder talking about the length of the battle with Hamas, the 120 individuals who remain as hostages and the world's reaction at this point in time. While it's true that immediately after the Hamas attack there was great sympathy toward Israel, now it's turned in the other direction as antisemitism, both in America and abroad, continues to increase. --While we should fight the evil of antisemitism, is God using it to call Jews back to their homeland for the wrap-up of history-- This program answers that question while pointing out what all of us need to remember- Salvation is available to everyone and the Gospel is the answer. Let's share that Gospel, while standing as individuals and churches, with the people through whom our scriptures were written and our Savior was born.

Home Schooling Attacked

7/10/2024
Will Estrada is Senior Counsel with Home School Legal Defense Association. He's a member of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar First Circuit Court of Appeals, 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, California and District of Columbia. Will himself is a homeschool graduate.--Homeschooling is seeing great success throughout the U.S. as parents serve as the primary educators for their children. There's been a mass exodus from public education, not only since the Covid pandemic, but as more and more indoctrination has been implanted via diversity, equity and inclusion efforts. In addition, more school districts are keeping parents from knowing what's going on when passing policies about how their children are identifying in the schools, what restrooms they use, the curriculum being taught or certain programs their children might be attending. --While this environment in public schools plays out, some parents choose to opt out, therefore homeschooling is under attack. This attack simply isn't working. As Will noted early in the broadcast, pre-Covid -just before 2020-, the U.S. Department of Education indicated there were about 2.1 to 3 million homeschooling students in the U.S. Now it's said to be between 6 and 8 million with some studies showing the number of homeschool students at the same level as the number of students in private schools. --Overall, Will described homeschooling this way- -...homeschooling is mainstream now...it's not just a weird thing. It has come into its own as a respected and established and successful way for loving parents to educate their children.---There's more to hear, including the thoughts and concerns of Crosstalk listeners.

Draft Our Daughters?

6/26/2024
Elaine Donnelly is president of the Center for Military Readiness, an independent, nonpartisan public policy organization that reports on and analyzes military-social issues. Since its founding in 1993, CMR has advocated for high, uncompromised standards in all forms of military training and sound priorities in the making of military-social policies. Elaine has published articles on military personnel issues in numerous newspapers and magazines nationwide.--Under consideration in Congress is the National Defense Authorization Act for 2025 -NDAA-. A number of positive initiatives are part of the House version. However, the Senate version comes with a very controversial mandate. It would require that for the first time in U.S. history, young women would be required to register with selective service for a possible future draft.--Elaine began by commenting on the state of readiness within our military, how women play into the solution and the mindset behind it. She indicated that although retention has been holding steady, we've had a recruiting crisis taking place for several years. With so many trouble-spots in the world, she's not confident that the current administration understands how serious these threats are. Plus, they are misdirecting millions of dollars of resources to -woke- priorities and actually alienating people.--One example she gave was that of Critical Race Theory -CRT-. She believes that the more we teach CRT, both in civilian schools and the military, it only makes the recruiting crisis much worse, therefore she sees our all-volunteer force as being very much at risk.--Another factor is Diversity, Equity and Inclusion -DEI- policies.
