376: The Brat Pack and Andrew McCarthy

7/16/2024
This week's "You Can Handle Anything" is going to be slightly different than usual. Instead of sharing one of my stories, I'm going to share with you someone else's. And that "someone else" is the actor, Andrew McCarthy. I'm going to dive into the intriguing story of Andrew McCarthy and the infamous "Brat Pack" label that shaped his career. The film captures his journey as he revisits old friends and questions whether the label or his reaction to it caused more harm. It’s a powerful example of how external labels can trap us, and what it takes to break free and reclaim our identity. Click here to tune in and perhaps consider labels in your own life and the impact they've had on you. If you’re in the Unstuck Revolution and have thoughts on the documentary, I’d love to hear them! Let’s discuss how we can apply these insights to our own paths to becoming unstuck. https://courses.shiragura.com/the-unstuck-revolution/

375: Release the Guilt

7/9/2024
In this episode of "You Can Handle Anything," I explore the heavy and often sneaky nature of guilt, sharing a personal story from a recent family dinner. After deciding not to partake in desserts my mom made, I was unexpectedly overwhelmed by guilt, despite making a simple, healthy choice for myself. Guilt is a complex emotion that can quickly transform into self-resentment, reminding us that we're often our own harshest critics. During the podcast, I discuss how emotions are essentially energy in motion and how they can change, sometimes needing guidance to move in a constructive direction. I'll walk you through the specific steps of The unSTUCK Method that I used to navigate and transform my feelings of guilt. This method not only helped me understand my emotions but also taught me how to handle them effectively without letting them control me. Tune in to learn how to manage and transform guilt, and discover that you can handle anything life throws your way. www.shiragura.com

374: Consider Agreeing to Disagree

7/2/2024
Have you ever felt incredibly strongly about something, only to find yourself talking to someone who sees things the exact opposite way? Or maybe they just can’t see your side at all? It’s beyond frustrating. You might argue back and forth, but no matter what you say, they don’t budge. It feels like you’re the only one suffering, but it’s likely tough for them, too. This is what unfolded for me last week with one of my kids, following up on last week's podcast episode where we clashed over something I found quite unethical. I turned to The unSTUCK Method to escape that frustrating deadlock because clinging to being right was getting us nowhere. In this week’s "You Can Handle Anything" podcast, I dive into exactly what I did and the new perspectives I embraced to resolve this conflict. Because ultimately, we may not control the obstacles in our lives, but we can master our responses to them. www.shiragura.com

373: Consider Asking Permission to Share

6/25/2024
Ever felt stuck on how to respond when someone close does something you disagree with? Reacting impulsively can damage relationships and make you regret your actions, while staying silent might leave you feeling like a doormat. Here's a tip: try asking for permission to share your feelings. It’s a respectful way to communicate without overstepping, and if they’re not open to it, you need to respect their choice. I faced a similar dilemma with my son recently. He sent a video from California that I found disappointing and unethical. Conflicted about how to respond, I used the unSTUCK Method. 372: Release Regret

6/19/2024
Ever wake up feeling weighed down by regret over something you did yesterday? 😞 It's a heavy feeling, and it can linger all day—or even longer. This hit me hard after a recent Father's Day celebration. We planned to spend the day with extended family, about 3 hours from my parents' house. I decided to go, even though it meant rescheduling a regular Zoom coaching call. All was well until things ran late, and I had to leave early to make it home in time for my call. That's when the guilt kicked in, quickly turning into regret. I kept thinking, I shouldn’t have gone. And believing it too. Repeating that story only kept me stuck in a loop of regret, which was no help at all. So, I turned to The unSTUCK Method to break free. 🔄 I share the whole journey on this week's podcast episode. I share how my morning starts with peace and quiet, using practices like breathwork, yoga, and my essential "Getting Unstuck" worksheet. This routine isn't just about starting the day; it's about clearing out leftover emotions and setting a positive tone. 370: An Unstuck Summer

6/4/2024
Big news—I’m about to hop on a jet plane and head to the United States for the summer! ✈️ Every year, I cherish this chance to reconnect with family and friends, but this summer, I’m hoping to do something special: an "Unstuck Summer." From my base in New Jersey to as far as California (or even Canada!), I’m looking to bring the power of The unSTUCK Method to religious institutions, workplaces, and even right in people’s homes. 🏠 This is a fantastic opportunity for you, your friends, and your community to experience a tool that transforms lives, health, and relationships. Worried I won’t come to your area or about logistics? Let’s get unstuck from those thoughts! 😊 If you’re intrigued, reach out and let’s chat about the possibility of bringing an Unstuck event near you. It’s already June, but I’m all about making the impossible possible. Ready to help create some summer magic? 🌟 Let's do this! www.shiragura.com

369: Rulebooks

5/29/2024
In this episode of "You Can Handle Anything," I delve into one of the most common but overlooked issues in relationships: the "rulebooks" we create for others. These are the expectations we set about how people should act, speak, and behave—like putting away shoes or doing dishes. Often, the other person is unaware of these rules, leading to frustration and resentment when they don't comply. Discover how recognizing and potentially letting go of these rulebooks can transform your relationships, preventing unnecessary conflict and fostering better understanding. 368: Evolutionary Goals

5/21/2024
Ever catch yourself thinking, "I wish I could..." or "I wish I had..."? 🤔 Those aren't just daydreams; they're powerful desires pointing you toward your destiny. Most of us try to chase these dreams by setting goals. But here's the tough truth: most people don't achieve them. Why? Well, I want to share two big reasons: They get hyper-focused on the end result, instead of falling in love with the process and the identity shift that occurs along the way. 💫When emotional roadblocks pop up, they give up instead of pushing through. 😢 It's a real shame, because it doesn’t have to be this way. I firmly believe you can achieve your goals because you are the creator of your life experiences. But you need the right approach: Create evolutionary goals that transform you.Plan your journey thoughtfully.Be emotionally equipped to avoid self-sabotage. Want to know more? 5/7/2024
Ever been called a terrible parent by your own child? Yup, that's exactly what happened to me recently. 😢 And trust me, it wasn't fun. But here's the good news: Instead of getting defensive, the new Shira handled it differently. 🌟 I stayed calm, kept control, and responded in a way that made me proud. It's not that I'm special. 362: When Things Don't Go As Planned

4/9/2024
Have you ever had a day where your simple plans just don’t pan out? Not the life-changing ones, but the daily stuff: a walk, cooking a specific meal, finishing a task. Out of the blue, things happen, and what you wanted to do just can’t be done. When that happens, you face a choice: stick with the frustration or move past it. Every moment gives you the power to either react on autopilot or respond with intention. In every moment, you have the power to choose. Just yesterday, I had this all planned out - an email blast to my Living Deliberately Circle about all the new videos I created for them, ready after months of hard work. Then, bam! A computer glitch. Out of nowhere, out of my control, and there went my email plan. My first thought? Power through the night until it’s fixed. But then, I paused. Took a step back. Went through The unSTUCK Method. And, oh, what a difference it made. Click below to dive into the full story and learn what you can do the next time life throws a wrench in your plans. P.S. 360: Consider Not Being a People Pleaser

3/26/2024
Have you ever caught yourself worrying too much about what other people think? This happened to me last week while I was getting ready for my youngest son's Bar Mitzvah. I was busy making plans and found myself stuck on worrying about what my friends would think of my decisions. This worry made me super anxious and I just couldn't shake it off. It's something we all go through, but it's definitely something to keep an eye on. Trying to make everyone happy might seem like a good idea, but really, it ends up doing more harm than good. Instead of trying to please everyone, it's important to remember that their opinions aren't what matters most. What really counts is how you feel about yourself, your choices, and taking charge of your own thoughts and feelings. That's where The unSTUCK Method comes in. One of the many things it does is that it helps you let go of that need to please everyone else so you can focus on what you really want to do. Check out this week's episode of the "You Can Handle Anything" podcast to hear the story and how you can start to embrace this consideration in your life, too. www.shiragura.com

359: Consider There's Some Truth to That

3/19/2024
Ever been called out and it hurts? It feels mean and makes you want to fight back. Everything goes so quick, and you feel like all you can do is get mad. But there’s a way to deal with it. If you notice you're getting upset, you can work through those feelings. This is what learning to "get unstuck" with The unSTUCK Method is all about. Doing this, you can calm down in no time, stay in charge, and think before you respond. This is what I did when my kid said something that made me really want to snap at them. But I didn’t. 357: You Can't Know Everything

3/5/2024
Have you ever had the experience where someone asks you to do a favor for them - and you gladly help out - only to realize you didn't succeed exactly the way the request was intended? I just hate it when that happens. It's like no good deed ever goes unpunished, right? When that happens, it's so easy to get stuck on self-judgment, self-criticism, and guilt. But the truth of the matter is, you can't always know everything all of the time. Things happen. And instead of staying stuck and feeling bad, you can choose to make a shift and feel better, no matter what the situation. This is what happened to me earlier in the week when I kind of messed things up with a friend. Tune in to this week's "You Can Handle Anything" podcast to hear that story. And as a bonus, I share a second similar story with you in this episode as well. Click below to tune in. I welcome your feedback and thoughts with me after you do. www.shiragura.com
