From Washington: Campaign Strategy In The Home Stretch

10/6/2024
Election Day is less than a month away, and the candidates are using the final days to make gains in key battleground states. Both former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are eager to win over voters in Pennsylvania, which has 19 electoral votes up for grabs. FOX News Contributor and former White House Chief of Staff Karl Rove breaks down each campaign's strategy and reacts to the vice-presidential debate. Between 1988 and 2012, Democrats relied on Wisconsin to swing their way in the Presidential Election. But in 2016, Donald Trump was narrowly able to win the state, securing him the path to the presidency. Although President Biden was able to win back Wisconsin in 2020, the state is poised to be a tossup yet again in November. FOX 6 Milwaukee Political Reporter Jason Calvi looks at the state of both presidential and Senate races and later shares which counties he'll be watching closely on election night. Extra: The Importance Of Pennsylvania This Presidential Race

10/5/2024
The biggest prize among the seven states considered toss-ups this election is Pennsylvania. With its 19 electoral votes, whoever wins that state may be our next president. It also so happens to be where former President Trump went this weekend, holding a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Butler is also the same place where he was nearly killed by a would-be assassin’s bullet back in July. Earlier this week, FOX News Rundown host Dave Anthony talked with Daron Shaw, who's part of the FOX News polling team, about Pennsylvania and its importance for Trump and Vice President Harris. Shaw took us inside the numbers in Pennsylvania and broke down what issues and regions would likely determine the winner of the Keystone State. We often must cut interviews short during the week, but we thought you might like to hear the full interview. Today on Fox News Rundown Extra, we will share our entire interview with the Fox News decision desk member Daron Shaw and allow you to hear even more about what some see as the most critical swing state and what both candidates must do to win it. From Washington: Reflecting On One Year of the Israel-Hamas War

10/5/2024
This Monday marks one year since Hamas invaded Israel, killing over 1,000 people and taking over 240 innocent civilians hostage. Since last October the conflict has only escalated — and now, as tensions grow alarmingly high between Israel and Iran, the question of what direction this war moves in remains unsettlingly indefinite. FOX News Chief National Security Correspondent Jennifer Griffin weighs in on how conflict in the Middle East has changed throughout the year and what the U.S.'s response might be to further escalation. This week, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas warned that FEMA was running out of funds amidst the catastrophic destruction of Hurricane Helene. With hundreds dead and even more people displaced from the storm, Congress is facing growing pressure to cut the October recess short to pass relief funding. FOX News Senior Congressional Correspondent Chad Pergram explains what's complicating the efforts to secure more funding for FEMA this hurricane season. Learn more about your ad choices. Business Rundown: Shocking Jobs Report Blows Past Expectations

10/4/2024
For weeks, economists and analysts reacted with caution to the August jobs report that showed a hiring slowdown, some even questioning if the Fed’s aggressive rate cut would ease inflation at the expense of our labor market. Average hourly earnings are up 4 percent year-over-year. Legal Cases & Crises Threaten To Upend 2024 Race

10/4/2024
A federal judge on Wednesday unsealed a filing from special counsel Jack Smith’s election interference case against former President Trump . Democrats quickly seized on the provocative details as the former President and his allies decry this move as election interference. Meanwhile, the Biden-Harris administration juggles a crisis with an escalating conflict in the Middle East and fallout from Hurricane Helene. FOX News Sunday anchor Shannon Bream joins to discuss how the 2024 candidates’ are weathering these October surprises and previews key cases heading for the Supreme Court. The number of counties in the United States that rely on government assistance is increasing, and most of them vote Republican. In 1970, one in ten counties in the country relied primarily on social safety net programs; in the latest survey of the nation, that number has risen to over half of American counties. Reasons range from rapid inflation, the expansion of government social programs, and deindustrialization due to jobs moving overseas. Reporter and Editor for the Wall Street Journal Aaron Zitner joins to discuss how these counties went from being swing districts to majority red regions, how former President Trump capitalized on bringing these voters into his coalition, and why both candidates are so focused on winning over voters in these areas. Will The VP Debate “Move the Needle?"

10/2/2024
The CBS News Vice Presidential Debate featured many tense moments between Ohio Senator JD Vance and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. While the VP picks were peppered with questions on policies, the moderators quickly confronted Vance on his past statements about Haitian immigrants and childless women. However, Vance’s steady performance allowed him to question Vice President Harris’ record while scrutinizing Walz’s history of progressive politics that could unnerve moderates and independents in key swing states. FOX News Radio’s Josh Kraushaar joined the Rundown to discuss why Vance likely came out on top in this debate and what that could mean for 2024 voters come November. October 7th is a day that will live in infamy for Israel—the day that Hamas terrorists made a surprise assault on southern Israel, massacring Israeli citizens, committing various war crimes, and kidnapping over 200 hostages.
