The Fan Weekends

During hour one of Mat Smith and Kyle Reese, the fellas get into team USA’s game against South Sudan, where South Sudan came out to a sixteen point lead in the first half. For the second segment, they talk about the women’s national team and whether they need Caitlin Clark or Angel Reese. To finish off the hour, Mat brings up some names the Broncos have lost in the offseason, and whether they should be missed.

In the second hour of Mat and Kyle, we listen to some baseball clips for the all-important Rockies update. Then the guys go deeper into team USA and the fits of certain players. Joel Embiid made some comments about how team USA is doing, and Anthony Edwards talks about the reason they were able to beat South Sudan. Cheryl Miller got into some of the WNBA contract rumors, and Mat and Kyle close out the hour with their preferences on where to watch the game.

For the third and final hour of Mat and Kyle, we discuss something that hasn’t happened in a very long time. Kyle watched a movie! Also, Mat poses the question what were your first and best concerts? And in actual sports talk they get into the Broncos potential rebuild, and their chances for next season. In the final segment of Mat and Kyle, they “chop it up” about Team USA from the women’s and men’s standpoints and have a little fun with some clips at the end.

In hour 1 Mat and Kyle discuss what happened at Nuggets camp. How much does the Holmes injury hurt? Did Strawther impress? As Broncos camp gets ready to start the guys discuss the feeling that the excitement level is different than many years prior. August 29 is the day where CU must put it on the field. Will they be able to make the leap this year? Did Prime playing Hunter both ways help with recruiting?

In hour 2 the Nuggets lost their only draft pick in his first summer league game. With the injury has the focus shifted to the development of Strawther? Boulder is the hub for college football right now. With the game being released this week some big names are already hyping up the Buffs. Apropos of nothing wraps up the hour.

In hour 3 Broncos camp kicks off in just a few weeks. Mat has something to fire everyone up. Besides Nix who should we be excited about? What can we learn in the upcoming season. Is this a rebuild or a retool situation? Is there anything that can stop the Chiefs and Mahomes. Where do the Nuggets rank in the pre-season polls? The guys chop it up to end the show.

The final hour of The Dan Jacobs show, Dan continues his rant about Jamal Murray, while the text line weighs in with their Jamal related takes. We welcome back John Davis for his interview recorded earlier in the show in case you missed it. Dan finishes up the show with some more text line reactions, and gets into some coffee shop employee etiquette.

It’s never too early for a mock draft and it appears the Broncos will have a top pick. What do the guys think of who was selected?

In hour 3 Mat and Kyle wonder if the Nuggets are in a scary situation. Is the lack of off-season movement a good sign for this young roster? Did the NBA rule changes impact the Nuggets more than other teams? The Buffs have some highly rated players. What’s the scouting report an Shedeur Sanders? The guys chop it up to wrap up the show.

For the first hour of The Dan Jacobs show, Dan asks a listener (who is a home chef) to make some fettuccini alfredo with shrimp and scallops. The text line then proceeds to blow up with scallop related comments for the rest of the show. Dan also welcomes John Davis for an interview where they discuss John’s opinion on trading Jamal Murray, whether the Nuggets should acquire Clay Thompson, and the Broncos starting quarterback. We finish up the hour with Dan telling a story about playing an Elton John song for his daughter.

In hour two of The Dan Jacobs show, Dan takes some time to make an uplifting message about belief in yourself and overcoming self-doubt. Someone tried to foreclose on Graceland, we get into it don’t worry. He then tries to defend Dick Monfort, which goes better than you would expect. And the scallop talk continues to drive the show forward.

During the last hour of The Dan Jacobs show, Dan explains how McGregor square could’ve been used to help the Rockies. We tried to end the scallop talk with a review of Kevin Costner’s new movie. Which turns into a discussion of Water world, Yellowstone, and Costner’s work as a whole. Dan re-visits his earlier interview with John Davis for those who missed it. To finish up the show, the text line decides to call Dan’s movie tastes into question.

Hour one of Mat and Kyle starts off with Kyle holding down the fort for undisclosed reasons. The guys get into the Nuggets first round pick DaRon Holmes and what he can do for the team, while also touching on the recent free agency moves the Nuggets have made. Nathan Mackinnon won some new hardware over the weekend, Mat’s pretty excited about it. They round out the hour getting into the appearance of coach Prime made on Joel Klatt’s podcast.

In hour 2 of Mat and Kyle, the guys discuss which of the Buffs wins was most impressive. Mat gives his opinion on who the Broncos starting quarterback will be at the beginning of the season. On the Avalanche front, Mat and Kyle listen to the sounds from Nathan Mackinnon’s acceptance speeches, while also giving their takes on the Casey Mittelstadt contract to end the hour.
