Plus tracks from Jupiter & Okwess, King Edi K, Afla Sackey & Afrik Bawantu, Zouratie Kone & The Astral Synth Transmitters, Oluko Imo, and Bosq & Kaleta. Plenty more appearing at the Festival of course and from manyt other amazing countries.

North Africa’s influence tops this weeks show with new release from Etran De L’Air from Niger, followed by Eqyptian band Dar Disku just out on Soundway and then a touch of Gnawan influence. Amadou and Mariam remixed in time for their Womad appearance and Caribbean artists from Putumayo’s new collection, and not to forget Cuban orishas with The London Lucumi Choir who play Tropical Pressure Festival this year. Zimababwe’s Jairos Jiri Band, South Africa’s Philip Tabane, and from Nigeria a new release from son of the late Afrobeat legend Fela, Seun Kuti with Egypt 80 with Damian Marley on vocal.

From Senegal comes Momar Kane with a heartfelt message, and from Nigeria an overdue reissue from Aderemi Kabaka, afrobeat from The Lagos Thugs, Ghetto Blaster, and Okwei Odili with her Brazilian band Aweto. New music Ghanaian legendary singer Pat Thomas with K.O.G, and UK based band Onipa. Tanzanian artist Saidi Kanda has a new compilation release and guests this year at Tropical Pressure Festival feature Lusafrican DJ Rocky Marsiano, and singer Liz Ikamba honours her Congolese heritage with Mbouta Kissangwa.
