Brink’s big night, Ersson’s shootout heroics break Flyers’ losing streak | PHLY Flyers

3/13/2025
They won a game. The Philadelphia Flyers ended their 5-game losing streak in dramatic fashion, beating the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3 in a shootout. Bobby Brink notched 3 points in regulation and then after a frustration 3v3 overtime, Matvei Michkov, Owen Tippett and Sam Ersson combined to take down the Bolts. Charlie, Bill & Steve break down the win, and the possibility of a late season turnaround for the Orange & Black.

Flyers drop 5th straight of homestand, Konecny goal drought reaches 9 games | PHLY Flyers Postgame

3/11/2025
The Philadelphia Flyers are on a 5 game losing streak, all at home and all in regulation. Our birthday boy Travis Konecny failed to put up a goal to celebrate his 28th, and now he’s got a 9-game goal drought, tying his season long which ended 10 games ago. Despite the loss, Jamie Drysdale & Matvei Michkov played solid games, with Drysdale scoring for a second consecutive game and Michkov setting up several chances with teammates unable to convert. Charlie, Kelly & Bill break down the loss and what they want to see from the Orange & Black in the final 16 games.

Michkov benched in first period, Flyers losing streak hits 4

3/9/2025
The Philadelphia Flyers have lost 4 straight after a mostly sleepy game against the New Jersey Devils. The major conversation during the game was Matvei Michkov’s benching for the final 9 minutes of the first period. Charlie, Bill & Steve break down the loss, and discuss the merits of Tortorella’s benchings, and how the Flyers should approach the final 17 games.

Ersson leaky, power play inept in Flyers’ third straight loss

3/8/2025
Well, the first period was pretty good! Unfortunately for the Philadelphia Flyers, there were 40 minutes of hockey played after that, and Seattle was the far better team for the vast majority of that time. Owen Tippett opened the scoring on a rush after some nice neutral zone work by Sean Couturier & Matvei Michkov, and that was pretty much it. Philly’s power play was once again terrible and Sam Ersson wasn’t great, and that all resulted in a third consecutive loss at home. Charlie, Kelly & Bill break down the loss, and if the Flyers could possibly sink even further in their final 18 games.

3/7/2025

Matvei Michkov scores 20th (for real!), but Flyers flat in loss on Trade Deadline Eve

3/6/2025
Well, if the Philadelphia Flyers wanted to make one final plea to Danny Briere that he should consider keeping the group together for the final 19 games in an attempt to get back into the Stanley Cup Playoff race, they failed miserably against the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night. Jets backup Eric Comrie held the Orange & Black off the scoreboard, and while Philly may have been emotional for what may have been Scott Laughton’s final game with the organization that drafted him in 2012, they did not channel that emotion into an A+ effort against the West’s best team. Charlie, Kelly & Bill break down the loss and look ahead to Friday’s 3pm Trade Deadline.

Flyers can’t overcome Sam Ersson’s rough start in 6-3 loss to Frost & Farabee's Calgary Flames

3/4/2025
Andrei Kuzmenko scored a goal and an assist against his old team but it wasn’t enough to overcome a horrendous first few minutes by Sam Ersson. Ersson was pulled after letting in 3 goals in the 1st period and Ivan Fedotov replaced him for the rest of the way. Morgan Frost picked up a pair of helpers in the Flames 6-3 win as well. Charlie, Kelly & Bill break down the loss and the upcoming schedule.

3/1/2025
The Philadelphia Flyers played one of their more impressive games of the year on Saturday night, holding the high-powered Jets offense to a single goal through 65 minutes, allowing Matvei Michkov to come up with the lone goal in the shootout to give Philly a win over the NHL’s top team. Jamie Drysdale and Ivan Fedotov were the big heroes of the game, coming up with huge performances to stay even with the Jets through 65 minutes. Charlie & Bill discuss the win and the upcoming trade deadline.

Matvei Michkov’s big night not enough as Flyers blow 3-0 lead, lose in OT

2/27/2025
The Philadelphia Flyers got out to a 3-0 lead less than halfway through the game, but the Pittsburgh Penguins didn’t lay down and die as they did on Tuesday, as they forced their way all the way back to win 5-4 in overtime. Matvei Michkov picked up 3 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a 4 point night from Evgeni Malkin, including the game-winner. Charlie & Bill break down the loss and what’s next for the final stretch of Philly’s season.

Foerster - Cates - Brink line DOMINATES in big Flyers win over Penguins

2/25/2025
What a game. Through about 35 minutes the Philadelphia Flyers were winning a pretty boring game, and then the Orange & Black started pumping in goals. Tyson Foerster, Noah Cates and Bobby Brink all tallied in the middle frame to give Philly a 5-1 lead through 40 minutes, and the Flyguys never looked back. Matvei Michkov broke 40 points with yet another multi-point game, Sam Ersson was solid, and Jakob Pelletier picked up his first point since joining the Flyers in a dominant win over the Penguins. Charlie, Kelly & Bill break down the win, and discuss whether Philly can actually make a playoff push.
